This year’s P7/S1 transition visits take place on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th June.
A day or two before the visit, the children will receive notification of the buses they will use from their P7 teacher. These may not be the same buses they will eventually be allocated after the summer break.
Your child’s secondary school uniform order form should have already been returned to our school office so that it can be collected by your child before Friday 13th June.
On the first day of the visit, your child should wear his/her primary school uniform.
He/she can wear the secondary school uniform on the second day (Friday 13th).
During the transition visit, no primary school child is allowed to leave the high school premises in school hours – including lunch and break times.
If there are any issues or concerns that arise during the two day visit, however small, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s P7 teacher.
We are fortunate this year to have secured TWO blocks of sailing for Primary 7.
The children will be travelling to the Sailing Centre to receive instruction from Mr Wishart, Outdoor Education.
The first group will visit on Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th June.
The second group will visit on Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th June.
Both groups will leave school at 9.00am and return for 3.00pm.
They need to bring a t-shirt, swimming costume, towel and a packed lunch.
The children attending have already passed their “Watersports Water Safety” certificate and any child who missed out on this needs to contact Duns Swimming Pool and arrange to sit the test before Thursday 29th May.
